No Fish..?

While my fridge is out of fish, I heard that many people caught a lot of fish during the weekend. This made me excited and therefore we went fishing in the evening. The water was low. Um... Many people were there but I can see little fish were being caught near me. Finally, we got nothing. Don't worry.. There was somebody keeping some fish for us.. So, we still had fish for dinner~ Sweet~

Selling Stuffs

We sold a lot of things though posting on the web rather. We also sent out advertisement through newsgroup. Some people bargained a lot, criticizing the stuffs like priceless but they still wanted it, which drove me crazy. Well, I decided I won't send any advertisement on that newsgroup again and may be I should do the advertising earlier.
Luckily, most of the stuff are gone and we now have plenty of space and no more urge to sell things.

Boss is back!

Since my boss is back this week, he planned meeting with us. Um.. I don't have much to talk about though. :( I was worry and did a lot of experiement, trying to get some exciting data. Of course, I do not succeed.
I came in exceptionally early this morning to prepare for my meeting. At least, I have to make him feel that I have been working hard. :p No sooner, someone emailed me and said Dr. Martin is not in today, there is not meeting. I collapsed.

Our own Garage Sale

We decided to hold a garage sale so that we can remove some huge or unused items. We printed out the sign and post it everywhere. Everything we wanted to sell was placed at the living room. I thought we did plenty of preparation.
Throughout the day, there were <10 people visiting and basically no item was sold. Oops...
See, garage sale is not as easy as you think.

Another weekend

We went to many garage sale yesterday morning. But really, either the price is out of budget, or the items are basically junk. Sometimes, the direction was bad and we missed many places with garage sale. There was a place where people were removing stuff when we arrive. A girl there said we can take whatever we wanted. Since it's free, I found the grill pretty attractive. Haha.. because of some hidden reason, we finally donate $2 as it's a Muslim temple. We brought it home and the first thing I made is marshmallow, but somebody seemed not interested. :p I wonder why this delicious grilled marshmallow attracts nobody while it's so popular among American and HK people.

Today, I tried to relax myself and shaked my fist. Somebody suddenly came to me. --> I gave him a punch. Oops... Eventhough I practiced karate, I never really hit a guy at his face... Luckily no blood occured..

Nice BBQ

We went to the Hickory Grove Park where is 30 min away from Ames from BBQ. We had 2 cars and we both got lost by missing the same intersection. Of course, we finally got to the place but it took us much longer time.
I had been to the park before (basically every year) for camping. It seemed to be a better place than I would expect. Easily we found the beach. I didn't swim as I had my contacts on. Still, it's nice to play inside the water. We rented a canoe ($ 9 for an hour) and a paddle boat and wandering around the lake. Some of us played frisbee but I am just not keen at it so I did the cooking work. It was fun.

We had tonnes of food. After we're done, we still had half of them.. People even tried to have another BBQ at the next day. But there was thunderstorm and this plan couldn't come true.

Scary Thunderstorm

We went fishing after 5pm.
As usual, after getting some baits from the store, I drove to the dam. Well, when I made a big turn and the bucket holding water and baits fell down. Fish and water were on the floor... Oops..
It's so lucky that I got a fish at the my first trial today and it's big, compared to those I fished before. After we all successfully got some fish, 'somebody' dropped his cap into the stream. After several attempts, he fished back his hat. Thunderstorm which I thought was far away finally came to our place. I felt like I was close to a tornado... The wind was so strong that it blew everything away.. Sand hit my face so strongly.. With no choice, we had to head back.

Friday Again

This was a very quiet Friday. Only 3 showed up at work at the morning including me working on my 'research'. Since our boss is gone, people look less motivated, especially me but I usually show up for nothing.
We have 6 graduate students here at noon time. But it seems like some came back just for lunch. At the afternoon, one was gone for dog show at 1, 1 left at 2 for preparing a weekend trip, 1 left at 3 to talk with his wife, the last one left at 330 quietly... Don't think that there is still one staying with me. He disappeared after the phone call. Can you believe that? This is 332 pm at the office. No body is here.

Escape

I haven't written any blot for sometime. Well.. I am just not that type of people.
Now, there are only the mother and one little girl left at my place. But the little one is, indeed, very naughty. She likes to bit me like I am some kind of food. It hurts...
Last night, the two hamsters were playing the wheel and it was so loud that I couldn't sleep. So, I decided to take away the wheel and put it back at the next morning.
This morning, I found that the bedding is unusually flat and quiet. After a moment, I tried to move the bedding to see where the hamsters are. ?? What? They are all gone! How can they acheive that? Soon, I found Lori on the kitchen floor, wondering around. But I couldn't find the little one. I set up traps as people suggest before I left.
Still, I was worry about the little thing so I went home during lunchtime. It's not in the trap. Um... I took Lora out from the box and see if she would bring me to her child. Of course, she didn't and she tried to go under the TV set and hide. So, I just put her back and tried to look for the little thing by myself.
After half an hour, I found her in the closet. It seems like she really hates me and tried so hard to escape. Food didn't seem attractive to her at all.
Anyway, I grabbed her and took it back to the box. But from all on, I have to really think about how they escaped and the way to avoid that.

Boring Day

Since it was a boring weekend, I took the PS2 home with some games. I was told that I should not play DDR at my place but still, I loved to take it home. In fact, it's the first game I played after I installed the PS2.
During the first song, I realized that it's going to be hard to the floor if I jump. But then, even worse, the whole TV stand (the computer desk) was shaking....
So, I decided not to continue. Hey, that's not my fault.. Let's see if there will be a solution for this problem.
I changed to eye-toy and the resolution is better here at my home. You should check it out sometime.

Really can't tell who is mother

During the week, I has been so excited about the little hamster. I bought a bigger green box for it so that it doesn't need to be so anxious when seeing throught the box. About the name, finally we decided if it is a female, we'll call it Lora. If it is a male, then it will be Jerry (like the mice in 'Tom and Jerry'.
Today, when we got home from school, there is a great surpise waiting. There were many (I was told 7 but I couldn't see actually) baby hamsters in the box. So, finally it got a name, Lora.
Babies are pink and Lora hide them inside the bedding. People said if you touch the babies or the mother at this period, the mother will eat its babies. So, I haven't attempt to disturb. them. Can't take a picture neither.
As I don't want to be a breeder, I will give some of these babies to the pet shop and save one or two female for Lora.
Ha, life is umimaginable~

Hamster~

Well, a few days ago I browsed the website selling second hand stuffs and found that people are giving out free hamster. Then I was very excited and want to get one or two since I have been thinking about getting a pet recently. I searched for the information of hamsters and found that they are easily breed. It seems like a good pet to me since it doesn't have 10-year life. After discussion, I decided to sent an email to the guy. He didn't reply until today. We went to his apartment and there are tens of hamsters, which are the offsprings of two hamsters in shorter than a year time. That is a little bit scary. Anyway, I took one which is the first one I petted. I can't recognize if it is a female or male, eventhough I know the difference between them based on the information on the web.
I was busy to go to buy stuff for my little hamster. In Walmart, I saw 2 friends. One of them asked me what is its name.. Well.. I've just taken it home.. Never thought of giving it a name.. Okay, I will start thinkg about that.
It seems like the plastic box I bought is a little bit too short for it.. I always imagine that it may do something like Lora in the Tomb Raider that one day it can jump out from the box. I bought it a wheel but it seems uninterested in it.
Ha, it's really cute.

Salt Egg

A week ago, I bought a box of salty egg from the Asian grocery store and found that all of them were bad.
During lunch, I found a recipe for salty egg on web. Thus, I ran home and tried to prepare some.. (well, broke 2 during theprocess :p) Just put eggs into water with heavily saturated salt and a little bit baking soda for a month time. So, we'll see if it works out okay after a month.

Baby~

This is a day like VIESHEA.. Even it is banned this year, people are trying to make it feel like VIESHEA. Actually I didn't realize that until Candy said she bought me a cherry pie. It is nice since I just had one before (at the first year I went to VIESHEA and Henry bought me one.. ) Whenever I get something good to eat, the first thing I will do is to find you out and share with you..

At night, we went to give a book to a friend. I was so surprised that she's pregnant. The last time I saw her should be around a month ago.. but I didn't notice.. Wow.. if I didn't see her tonight, that will be even suprising to see a new baby in their home.. :p

My friend is leaving

Well, my Taiwanese friend is leaving Ames soon to her boy friend's place.. Therefore we spent a whole night together, talking about everything.. She's really brave to make that decision.. At least, I am not able to leave without getting anything here..

That's a wonderful night.. but I ate a lot.. First I had a whole plate of rice and then we went to a coffee shop for a latte and a piece of tiramisu... Suddenly I liked the feeling of going to coffee shop .. the problem is, it's not cheap at all and it costed like a formal meal..

Phantom of the Opera

Today I went to the one-dollar theater to see 'Phantom of the Opera'. Before that, I had a buffet dinner at KFC. How can you believe that I can have buffet type food for consecutively 3 days and I can eat a lot at each meal.. Crazy.. I should control myself better.
It was a good movie. I like the songs very much though Wenlong said he sometimes can't hear it well. The melody is basically the same but the lyrics changed. 'Phantom' is such a poor character. He is talented, but his self-esteem is so low just because of his look..

Sunflower

I potted some sunflower seeds in my newly bought pot. Eventhough the manual said I should let them to have 6 inch space in between each seeds, I put them (~10) all into a 6 inch pot as I believe some are not going to grow. Yesterday, I took a look to my little baby seeds to see if they are growing well. There are some tiny yellowish balls sit on the soil. When I was doubting what they are and where they came from, I found a lady bug on my window. So, I concluded that they are eggs.... Without another thought, I flush them into the toilet..

Little plants

Sometimes ago, I used my old pot to plant some chili seeds but they didn't grow up for a while. Meanwhile, my labmate needed a bigger pot for his plant. So, I had just gave the pot to him. After a few months, he told me that were some little grass growing up inside the pot. Therefore, I decided to take them back last weekend and try to see what they really are. I took 12 back and at the first day, 4 little guys were down. At second day, three more were down. It seems like I have either overwatered them or chilled them by putting them too close to the window. Well, I am just not very good at gardening.

Curry Chicken

Ha... I made curry chicken today~ using the sauce package... not a bad one.
Well.. it seems like I am trying to make too many different dishes while I am on diet.. getting crazy.
